Susan Volkman

Susan Volkman is the Chief Operating Officer of One Call Concepts. Susan worked for Western Union International/Telephone Answering Service, managing answering service operations in Minnesota and Wisconsin for several years before coming to Diggers Hotline in Wisconsin in 1980. Between 1980 and 1984, Susan was instrumental in expanding Diggers Hotline operations from the Milwaukee metro area to the entire state. In 1984, when OCC was awarded the contract for the Diggers Hotline call center operations, Susan became our Director of Operations. In 1987, she was promoted to Vice President.

Her daily duties include overseeing the operation of all OCC’s call centers as well as its Systems Division. She personally supervised many of the early call center conversions from other vendors or in-house systems to a total turn-key One Call Concepts solution.

Susan routinely logs more airline miles than any other one-call professional in North America in support of the one-call centers OCC operates. This ongoing personal review of OCC’s operations is indicative of the level of management support accorded each of our customers.

Susan has been a member of OCSI since 1980. She served on the OCSI executive council from 1981 to 1986 and helped plan and promote several of the workshops held at various symposia. She is currently serving a Governor’s appointment to the Citizens’ Advisory Panel for the Minnesota Office of Pipeline Safety and holds a seat on the Board of Directors for the Underground Safety Institute.
