BIO: Thelma Latham

Thelma Latham is the General Manager of the Louisiana and Texas divisions of One Call Concepts, Inc. Thelma began her one call career in 1978 while working for Bell South Telephone (formally South Central Bell) as an Outside Plant clerk. In 1984 One Call Concepts was awarded the Louisiana contract and there was an immediate search to find space and experienced personnel. It wasn’t long before President Tom Hoff found out that Thelma was available. She was then hired as Office Manager to face this new challenge. To help tread this new geographical territory and assist with the cut over and debut of the Once software, training of the staff and online operation. Thelma was promoted to General Manager within six months.

Thelma will celebrate her 20th year with One Call Concepts in October 2004. She is a hands on Manager in the office yet she travels extensively throughout Louisiana and Texas to meet and greet contractors, members and utility companies face to face. She has held positions such as President and Board Director of the Louisiana Association of State Utility Councils. She is also heavily involved with Contractors Awareness Groups, The Pipeline Group, APWA, 911 Planning committees, and the Utility Coordinating Councils. In addition, she has created many unique mapping solutions fro members of the Louisiana Damage Prevention Community.
